The tracks in your Telegram chats as a music library: songs, albums and artists, a queue and the lock screen controls.
TMPlayer Music plays the audio files you already have in your own Telegram chats: the tracks in Saved Messages, or the ones in a group or channel you are in. You pick the chats, it finds the tracks in them and builds one library of songs, albums and artists, and a track starts within seconds while the file is still downloading. It is the sibling of TMPlayer, the player for the videos in your chats, and copies its TDLib sign in and streaming layer rather than linking to it.
Album, artist, year and cover come from the files' own tags. The app fetches only the start of each file, reads ID3, FLAC, Ogg, MP4, WAV and AIFF tags with the text encoding detected, and deletes the partial copy. The same recording in several files is one row with a Versions sheet behind it: the group key is made once at index time from the primary artist, the folded title and the variant, so different artists never fold, live and remix stay separate, and a forward of the same file is one source.
It is built for cheap phones and large accounts. The index is SQLite with keyset paging, tested against a synthetic account of 100,000 tracks, and a real chat of 35,865 tracks scrolls at a median frame of 19 ms. TDLib file ids are asked for again in each session instead of trusted from disk, the tag reader works in small paced batches, and nothing ticks while the screen is off: playing in the background fell from 36 to 6 percent of one core.
Nothing is scanned until you pick a chat. It does not read your messages, post, react or mark anything as read, does not search public channels, and has no catalogue and no recommendations. The library, playlists, favourites and the queue stay on the phone. Version 0.1.0 is out as an APK on GitHub, for Android 6.0 and up, under GPL-3.0, and unofficial, not affiliated with Telegram.
Tell me what you are building. You get a fixed scope and a fixed figure back, from the person who writes the code.
